Text Box: ON FRIDAY MARCH 16, 2012 THE NIAGARA ACTION CENTRE WILL BE CLOSING ITS DOORS. It has been almost three years since the plant closures of Niagara Machine Products, St. Catharines Machine Products and Court Valve. Since our initial start-up, where 400 of our former co-workers were looking for employment, we are now happy to say 90% of them have taken that first step past losing their jobs. This includes people who have found full time jobs, returned to school, retired or moved away. This is a tremendous success rate which would not have been possible without the support of the local community agencies who have always supported us. Furthermore the dedication and hard work of the Peer Helpers who continually contacted employers looking for that job lead is also a huge contributing factor to our success. Finally, I would like to thank everyone who have unselfishly given us job leads. Without everyone’s participation the success we have had would not be possible. Either way, please let me know by February 29,2012. We will be destroying all files and personal information before we close. We will also be putting together a resource package containing literature about the other employment agencies in the area along with other information we feel you will find useful. These packages will be ready after February 1st, so stop in and pick one up. If there is anything we can do to help you from now until March 16th, such as updating your resume or creating a new cover letter, please
